WHAT DOES GOD SAY ABOUT TITHE?
We return to God what has always belonged to Him.
Malachi 3:7-10 teaches us that the Lord desires for us to return to God what is already His. In this passage the Lord declares to His people that it is cheating and stealing to not return the tithe back to Him. But!!! He also makes a promise to open up Heaven and pour out blessings to those who obey Him in this way!
We worship God through the obedience of tithing.
Acts of obedience are the greatest forms of worship. Proverbs 3:9-10 instructs us to honor the Lord with our wealth and bring our tithe to His storehouse (the Church). Passages like 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 and Matthew 6:1-4 also teach us God's law of giving. What we sow we reap. We must give with a cheerful and humble heart. Not seeking praise from others for our righteousness, but rather that we may please our Father by our obedient worship.
